Rochester man sentenced to 146 months in prison

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- 30-year-old Solomon Newcomb of Rochester, Indiana, was sentenced to 146 months in prison after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more a mixture and substance containing methamphetamine.

Solomon Newcomb was sentenced to 146 months in prison and 4 years of supervised release. According to documents, on September 22, 2024, officers pulled over a vehicle in which Solomon was a passenger.  Solomon attempted to run, but officers caught up to him and arrested him.

In the vehicle, officers located a backpack owned by Newcomb, which contained controlled substances and 150 grams of methamphetamine, an AR-style rifle, and more than 300 rounds of ammunition.
