Roller derby girls hold car wash

MISHAWAKA, Ind.-- Soap and suds were plentiful June 16 in Mishawaka.

The South Bend Roller Girls washed and wiped down cars in the area to help raise funds for their club.

This is the third year they've held the fundraiser.

Last year they raised over $1,500, and are on par to do the same this year.

"We're trying to get our name out into the community and build up some more support for our league. We're always trying to raise funds; we have a lot of traveling we do, so we need to help that," said Hanah Tepe.

The ladies say their club serves as a model to empower young women.
