Romney, Ryan hit the campaign trail after convention

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his running-mate Paul Ryan were back on the campaign trial after the conclusion of the Republican National Convention.

Romney officially accepted the party's nomination on Thursday in Tampa, Fla.

During his speech, he made his case for why he should be the next president of the United States.

On Friday, Ryan campaigned in Virginia while Romney tried to build on momentum from his RNC speech during a rally in Florida.

Florida is a key battleground state in the upcoming election.

"Florida gave me the votes I needed to become the nominee and I thank Florida," Romney said. "I need you to do the work on Nov. 6 that gets me elected the next president of the United States."

Romney also toured Louisiana for a first hand look at the damage left in Hurricane Isaac's wake.
