Ronald McDonald Family Room celebrates 10 years

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The balloons are out and the celebrations are underway at Memorial Hospital.
It is the tenth anniversary of the Ronald McDonald Family Room at the hospital.
The room is open to families of seriously ill or injured kids. There, the families can find support during tough times in a home-like environment.
"It allows our parents to stay close to their children while they are hospitalized," said Executive Director Shelley Lesniewicz. "So they don't have to feel any anxiety in having to go home. And for some families, its a great distance for them to go."
To celebrate the occasion, the team collected donations of new books and toys for the facility.
