Running out of daylight

Comes the morning and the headlights fade away

Hundred thousand people...I'm the one they blame

I've been waiting long for one of us to say

Save the darkness, let it never fade away

In the living daylights

November 1st sunrise was at 8:17am EDT and will set at 6:40 pm EDT.  (To make this all easier lets convert this to Eastern Standard Time  7:17am EST / 5:40 pm EST.) In just 31 days by the end of the month sunrise wanes back to 7:52am EST and sets at and early 5:15pm EST.

What does that all mean? Over just 31 days we lose an hour of daylight from 10h and 23m to 9h and 23m.

The reason for this as previously stated in my blog about the Autumnal Equinox, the Earth's tilt and orbit increasingly favor the southern hemisphere, as we head towards the winter solstice.

The time change and the lessening daylight also comes into play when forecasting. Normally the high temperature for the day in the Spring , Summer and early Fall happen around 5:00pm, now with less daylight we'll forecast high temperatures in the mid afternoon, in the 3 o'clock hour.
