Rupert Boneham trying to "survive" running for governor

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --The tie-dyed shirt has been replaced with a tie-dyed tie.

ABC 57 told you earlier this week, former “Survivor” contestant Rupert Boneham is considering a run for Indiana Governor.

Now he is speaking out about it. The 47-year-old Indianapolis native may seek The Libertarian Party nomination.

Right now, he is a little policy light, but Boneham said the current candidates don’t understand the problems the average Hoosier faces.

Boneham said, “"I lived that day to day life, that paycheck to paycheck life most of my life."I understand what the policies are doing to us, when we struggle with even making that utility payment."

Boneham said he shares many core beliefs with The Libertarian Party about self sufficiency, and that his non-profit mentoring program is a working example of that.
