If you're headed to a tailgate this weekend, ABC 57 has tips to keep you safe while snacking.
Dietitians say cross-contamination from meat is a big concern.
Be sure to ditch plates after they have had raw meat on them so you do not spread harmful bacteria.
You should also bring a meat thermometer to your tailgating.
Registered dietitian Marisa Moore says, “You don’t want to leave anything out for more than two hours, and if you do, you need to toss it out.”
If it is warmer than 90 degrees outside, throw out food that has been sitting out for one hour.
