MICHIGAN — Federal health officials said a salmonella outbreak could be linked to two Michigan-based companies.

The CDC reported that 16 people have gotten sick from the disease in five states. Most of those cases were reported in Michigan, with a total of nine people.

The disease control organization recommended that people do not eat raw or undercooked ground beef.
