ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The Salvation Army said they are getting closer to their holiday goals.
The bell ringers are behind just $8,500 over last year's totals.
They were behind about $10,000.
They did get a little boost at a local JC Penney’s.
The Salvation Army said someone wrapped a silver nugget in a $50-bill and dropped it into the kettle outside the store.
