Sam's Club & Mars Co. decide to be 'heroes'

Here's something you don’t see every day -- people doing something for nothing.

That’s what the Heroes Camp in Mishawaka is all about.

This youth ministry center gives orphaned and parent-less kids free meals, free shoes, free haircuts and a place to play.

Thursday, Sam’s Club and The Mars Company gave back to the center, they donated their time and all of the materials to build a concession stand for the kids.

Patrick Perri, the camp’s administrator says, “What's nice about it is they're serving us like we serve the community.  They're not charging us anything to build the stand. They provided the labor. They provided all of the materials."

The stand will be used for backyard barbecues with the kids, and some of them even pitched in and helped with the hammering.
