Sandra Yute not guilty of battery to a child

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The woman accused of abusing a special needs child has been found not guilty.

Saundra Yute was in her first year as the special education teacher at Laville Jr-Sr High School when she resigned her position after being accused of spanking a 12 year old special needs child.

Yute was charged with battery to a child.

She had been accused of slapping and spanking a special needs child after the child urinated on the bathroom floor.

After the trial, Yute told ABC57 she would like to stay in education but isn't sure yet whether or not she will.

For now she says she just wants to go home and put this behind her.
