SB 150 festivities to look forward to

The South Bend 150 festivities kick off with an opening ceremony Friday night, May 22. It's open to the public, includes an address from South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg, a performance by the South Bend Community Choir and the lighting of the St. Joseph River.

Then on Saturday you can plan on the Adventure Park with zip lines, ropes course, bumper cars, mini golf, roller skating, yoga, zumba, skateboarding, and competitions.

As well as an Island Wine & Brew Mixer, American National University celebration to commemorate their evolution into a university, Artisan Alley, the 2nd Annual Stars and Stripes Forever Ride, and mascots, outdoor movies, petting zoos, face painting, bounce houses, arts and crafts, relay races all a part of the Kids Activity Zone.

Our reporting partners MNC 95.3 talked to Mayor Pete about SB 150. He said, "I can't remember anything quite like this and that's how it should be. How often do you get to have a celebration like this? And it's coming at just the right time. South Bend is back and we have a chance now to show our city how much we care about it by celebrating a really big birthday week."
