SBPD enforces curfew laws

SOUTH BEND — South Bend police officers hit the streets Thursday night to enforce the city's curfew law. Officers picked up 29 minors who were out past curfew.

Minors between the ages of 15 and 17 are not allowed in public places after 11 p.m. on weeknights. Curfew for teens in that age bracket extends to 1 a.m. on weekends.

Curfew is 11 p.m. all week for children under 15.

Exceptions are made for minors with parents or those who travel from church or work after curfew is enforced.

Parents of minors caught violating curfew will be fined.
