SOUTH BEND --- South Bend Police are asking students to think about crime prevention.
The police department sent out some safety tips.
They say if you live off campus, you should develop a group of trusted neighbors. They should know who is and isn't allowed in your apartment.
You should keep your apartment looking "lived in" by keeping lights on and curtains closed at night.
Always lock your doors and windows.
Don't keep anything valuable inside your car, like electronics.
