School City of Mishawaka going mask optional beginning Wednesday

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – The School City of Mishawaka is changing its masking policy to mask optional beginning Wednesday.

Beginning February 23, masks will be recommended but not required in schools.

Masks will still be required on school and Transpo buses.

Students and staff who are a close contact will no longer have to quarantine unless they test positive or have COVID-19 symptoms.

A negative COVID-19 test or doctor’s note is no longer required to return to school.

Students should not return to school unless their symptoms have improved or they’ve been fever free for at least 24 hours without the help of medicine.

The School City of Mishawaka is hosting a Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine clinic on March 4.
