School district's misspelled sign turning heads

SAPULPA, Okla. -- A sign at an Oklahoma school system building is turning heads because the word "schools" is misspelled.

Many neighbors say it is not a big deal. The sign outside the Sapulpa Administration building has been that way for months but others feel it misrepresents the district.

"It doesn't make us look very smart, does it? And that's our administration building," said Caitlin Alexander.

"It's sad for our schools, because our schools are wonderful," said Anna Vest, a former school employee.

The school superintendent said Monday the spelling error is a prank and the sign will be fixed.
