Fulton County Sheriff's Office investigating school threat which disrupted several districts

ABC 57

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office reports they were notified by the FBI regarding a general, nonspecific threat made against a school.

Authorities say while no particular school or suspect was initially identified, immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of students and staff in the community.

Deputies began working in close coordination with the FBI, Indiana State Police, and surrounding law enforcement agencies.

All area schools were informed of the potential threat, despite the lack of specific details.

After a thorough investigation, law enforcement officials were able to locate, identify, and interview the individual responsible for making the threats.

The investigation is ongoing.

Based on the evidence gathered so far, the threat does not appear to be credible, authorities say.

The Argos Police Department announced there's no longer a threat regarding Argos Schools Wednesday afternoon.

Argos Schools, along with other local districts like LaVille Community Schools and the Plymouth Community School Corporation were on high alert after a threat was made toward "a school."
