Search underway for missing 47-year-old from Niles Township

NILES TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- A search is underway for a missing 47-year-old from Niles Township, according to a press release from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

Garen Patrick Collins, 47, was reported missing from the Riverfront Park Campground located at 1701 Pucker Street along the Dowagiac River. He was last seen at around 6:30 a.m. on June 9.

Collins is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 265 pounds with brown eyes, short brown hair and a goatee.

Authorities say they’ve located Collins’ vehicle in the parking lot of the Pucker Street Dam.

An extensive search is underway in coordination with the Niles Township Fire Department, police say.

Anyone with information on Collins or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 269-983-7141, ext.7224.
