Search warrant leads to two arrests on weapons and drug charges in Benton Harbor

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - Southwest Enforcement Team (SWET) west detectives, along with the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office, report they executed a search warrant on May 2 in the 800 block of Broadway Avenue in Benton Harbor.

Authorities say the search warrant resulted from a cocaine drug trafficking investigation.

The report states during the search, SWET located over two and a half pounds of cocaine, a large quantity of pills, an unsecured loaded firearm, ammunition, and several items used to manufacture and distribute cocaine.

Following the search, charges were sought against two suspects during the investigation.

48-year-old David Scott of Benton Harbor was later charged by the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office with delivery/manufacture cocaine over 1000 grams, second offense, maintaining a drug house, second offense, possession of a firearm by a felon/prohibited person, three counts of felony firearms, and parole violation.

44-year-old Tiffany Thomas of Benton Harbor was also charged by the Berrien County Prosecutor’s Office with delivery/manufacture cocaine over 1000 grams, maintaining a drug house, and two counts of felony firearms.

Both suspects were arrested in the last week of May 2024, and have been arraigned at the Berrien County Court house.

The report states it's unknown if they have been released or remain in jail.
