Seasonal weight restrictions go into effect in Berrien County on March 4
BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Road Department has ordered the seasonal weight restrictions to take effect Friday at 6 a.m.
Seasonal weight restrictions reduces the maximum axle load by 35% per axle and reduces speed to 35 mph for all commercial vehicles with a gross vehicle rating of 10,000 pounds or more.
Seasonal permits for public utility and agricultural vehicles can be obtained online through Oxcart or on the road department’s website.
No overweight loads will be permitted during the seasonal weight restrictions.
