Second Chance job fair returning on Thursday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- After the success of the first job fair back in December, the Beacon is excited to announce that it will be hosting another “Second Chance” job fair this Thursday.

The purpose of “Second Chance” job fairs is to offer another opportunity to “returning citizens” who have been incarcerated.

Gainful employment is one of the more challenging obstacles as a returning citizen.

The Beacon, located at 4210 Lincoln way West in South Bend, will open its doors on Thursday from 10AM to 2PM to all formerly incarcerated citizens (aka, “returning citizens”).

The employers present will be open to extending job opportunities to neighbors with backgrounds, and community resource partners will be on hand to offer various services.

The job fair is a culmination of many community partners, with Riverside Church being the lead partner that is interacting with Better Together, the national organization equipping local communities to host these exciting job fairs.
