Section of S.R. 331 closed for restoration

The Indiana Department of Transportation is in the midst of a resurfacing project. That project involves 11.5 miles of State Road 331. That stretch of roadway from Mishawaka to Bremen was completely closed as of Monday.

For the next couple of months, INDOT crews will work to remove old asphalt, as well as patch and repair areas of the road.

Drivers who typically took 331 on their morning or evening commutes will have to detour.

Those who plan to travel south on 331 will be detoured onto U.S. 20, south onto U.S 31, then east onto U.S 6 back to 331.

People who drive north on 331 can expect a detour west on U.S. 6, north on U.S 31, east onto U.S. 20, then back to 331.

Throughout the course of the project, INDOT will make updates on social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook. People can also sign up for text and email updates here.

Renovations are expected to be completed on September 1st.
