Semi-trailer crash injures one in Elkhart County

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A semi-trailer crash leaves one with non-life-threatening injuries in Elkhart county on Friday at 1:22 p.m.

The semi-trailer was traveling eastbound on County Road 36, approaching State Road 13. Another vehicle, a 2018 Chevy Silverado, was traveling south on SR 13, approaching CR 36.

The semi-trailer allegedly drove through the intersection, disregarding the stop sign, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office report.

Due to this, the semi-trailer allegedly crashed into the Chevy as it exited the intersection on southbound SR 13, the report said.

The driver of the Chevy lost control of his vehicle, ran off the east side of the roadway into a small ditch and rolled over before coming to a stop on SR 13, south of CR 36, according to deputies.

The driver of the Chevy was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries, the report said.

The driver of the semi-trailer was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, according to the report.
