Senator Lugar visits South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Senator Richard Lugar was in South Bend on Wednesday checking out the innovative programs the city is putting in place.



He stopped by Innovation Park at Notre Dame. He also toured the Transpo headquarters.



After talking with city leaders, Lugar said he is impressed with everything that South Bend has to offer.



"It's here in South Bend and that's not evidence of a dying city, it's a city that has had remarkable success at a national level,” said Sen. Richard Lugar, (R) Indiana.



Lugar is facing a tough primary challenge from State Treasurer, Richard Mourdoch.
