Sequester cuts delay cruise passengers

PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. -- More problems for Carnival Cruise passengers and this time it is out of the cruise line's hands.

Passengers waited more than four hours to get off the Carnival Freedom thanks to sequester cuts.

There were not enough customs and immigration agents working in Port Everglades, Florida when the ship docked leaving many stuck onboard frustrated and fed up.

"It was kind of resignation. There was not much we could do about it, so we just sat there," said Dell Housewright, Carnival passenger.

The delay even had a domino effect causing passengers set to leave on a new trip aboard the Freedom to wait even longer to check in.

Carnival released a statement apologizing for the delay.
