MASON TOWNSHIP, Mich. -- Multiple agencies responded to a crash on US 12 at Tharp Lake Road Friday afternoon just after 2 p.m.
Cass County Undersheriff Clint Roach says a pickup truck was traveling northbound on Tharp Lake Road when the driver failed to stop at the stop sign.
His vehicle collided with a car driving westbound on US 12.
The driver of the pickup, 23-year-old Adam Graigo of Bristol, was ejected from the vehicle and was taken by helicopter to South Bend Memorial where he is listed in critical condition.
One person was transported by helicopter to the hospital.
The driver of the car, identified as 22-year-old David Steven of Cassopolis, died on scene, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.
US 12 was closed for several hours during the investigation and cleanup. It has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
