BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A feel-good story we shared earlier this month has taken a dark turn as the Benton Harbor waitress who received a $10,000 tip from a customer has been fired.
She says the tip is to blame, but the restaurant says that while they cannot comment on personnel matters, the tip is not the reason the server was let go.
ABC57s Jackie Bauer first spoke to Linsey Boyd earlier this month after the restaurant shared the news of the massive tip in a Facebook post.
On Wednesday, they spoke under much different circumstances as the mother of two broke her silence after losing her job at the café.
