Several arrested after deputies serve search warrant in Howe

Multiple police agencies executed a search warrant at a home on SR120 in Howe following investigations into counterfeiting, stolen property and drugs, according to the La Grange County Sheriff's Office.

When officers arrived on scene on April 7, several people ran from the home.

One subject, later identified as Tara Ball, was captured and taken into custody with assistance of K-9 Arrow.

Other people found throughout the property were detained without further incident, according to the sheriff's office.

While searching the property, investigators found 2 stolen trailers, a suspected stolen vehicle and significant amount of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Brett Maskow, of Howe was taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance.

John Howard Heath of Sturgis was taken into custody on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance. He also had an active warrant out of Elkhart County.

The sheriff's office says there are several other suspects at the property will likely face drug charges.

Additional arrests are expected.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office conducted the operation with assistance from the Indiana State Police, Indiana Conservation Office, Rome City Marshal’s Office, LaGrange Police Department, Shipshewana Police Department, Topeka Police Department and Wolcottville Police Department for their assistance in this investigation.
