Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the awards were distrusted at the police station in Michigan City in order to adhere to social distancing protocols.

In a statement, Chief Campbell said: “Your Michigan City Police Department is full of so many diverse and talented officers. The actions of each of these Officers that received awards reflects the dedication, hard work and compassion that the Michigan City Police Department has for the citizens of Michigan City. I would like to personally thank each of these officers for these amazing acts of heroism, professionalism, and selflessness. We appreciate each officer and our department could not accomplish the goals we are able to without the insightfulness and intelligence of every member of this department.”
