Sex offender accused of failing to register in Plymouth

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. - A convicted sex offender was arrested on Monday after failing to register as such in Plymouth, according to the Marshall County Sheriff's Office.

Robert Lee Perez Jr. is a registered sex offender, having been convicted of child molesting through Fulton County, according to reports. As a classified sex offender, he is required to register annually and register any change in residence and employment within 72 hours of the change.

Deputies learned Perez was living at a residence in the 800 block of N. Michigan St. in Plymouth since March 2022 and had not registered his address change. Perez has a registered address in Monterey, Indiana.

Perez was found to have four prior convictions for failure to register as a sex offender.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and on Monday, deputies located and arrested him for failure to register as a sex offender with a prior conviction.

He is being held on a $10,000 cash bond.
