Sheriff: Pickup truck overturns while driving through farm

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich.—The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says a pickup truck overturned and the driver was ejected while driving through a field during farming operations on April 24.

According to officers, on Wednesday, a Chevy pickup truck was driving through a field in the 58000 block of M66 in Colon Township during farming operations when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.

The driver, 22-year-old Steven Wickey of Mendon, Michigan, was ejected from the pickup truck and sustained serious injuries.

The pickup truck’s male passenger was not injured.

Police say speed and seat belt use are both factors in the crash.
