Sheriff's office creates website for drug-related crime tips
La Porte County Sheriff John Boyd announced Monday the creation of a new website for drug-related crime tips.
Sheriff Boyd says the information sent through the website will go directly to narcotics investigators.
The sheriff's office encourages anyone with information on suspected drug dealers or abuse should use the site to leave information. A telephone number is also available to leave tips.
“The public has been very supportive of our efforts aimed at reducing drug dealing and related crimes here in La Porte County. Our drug tip hot line has been a useful tool and we feel that adding a web site for our citizens to send in their tips and observations will serve us well as we increase the information that our narcotics detectives use in their investigations," Sheriff Boyd stated in a press release. “We appreciate the information that tipsters pass along as it often results in criminal arrests. We continue to actively pursue every means at our disposal to brings dealers to justice.”
The phone number tip line is also available by calling 219-325-9022. Information left on this tip line is kept confidential and can be made anonymously.
