Shooting in Benton Township leaves one injured

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – A shooting in Benton Township Friday night has left one person injured and no suspect located.

On January 8 at around 7:59 p.m., officers with the Benton Township Police Department were dispatched to a home on Concord Road for a report of a shooting victim that had entered the residence.

Officers discovered the victim with two gunshot wounds to both of his legs.

Upon investigating, officers learned the shooting had occurred near Blossom Lane and Concord Road.

The victim was transported to Spectrum Health Lakeland for non-life-threatening injuries.

This investigation is ongoing and at this time, officers have not located any suspect.
