Shooting in South Bend sends one person to a hospital

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County dispatch confirmed that they received a call at 7:42 p.m. on Wednesday for a shooting that injured one person on the 1500 block of North Portage Avenue.
The victim of this shooting was transported to a hospital, dispatch says.
South Bend's Chief of Police Scott Ruszkowski says the victim was shot in the foot, closer to the big toe.
Ruszkowski also says that the shooter was allegedly intoxicated before shooting the victim and leaving the scene.
Police are at the scene to investigate.
