Shooting injures teen and 71-year-old in Elkhart

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A shooting in Elkhart left a 17-year-old boy with non-life-threatening injuries and a 71-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries at 9:41 pm on Thursday, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

The shooting took place on the 300 block of Gross Street, officers said.

Police arrived at the scene on Thursday evening, and the woman was taken the hospital. The teen was taken to hospital before police arrived. Officers secured the scene and called in Detectives. There is no immediate threat to public safety, according to officers.

There are no arrests at this time.
