SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Business owners in the Howard Park neighborhood say construction is affecting business. Workers say the project will be worth the temporary headache.
Jim Boyles and his team from Selge Construction Company have been working on Jefferson Street for 3 weeks. They're calling the project, "the beautification of Jefferson."
"It'll be new pavement, new curbs, new sidewalks," says Boyles.
Becky Reimbolde owns a shop right in the middle of the project. She says it has affected sales but she doesn't let it bother her.
“We know it’s going to add so much to the neighborhood,” says Reimbolde.
Selge Construction says the project will be done by October 1st.
