Milder but wetter conditions this weekend
The heat and humidity come to an end today, but at the cost of rainy weather during the late morning and then again in the late afternoon/early evening. A weakening line of storms west of us will diminish over time this morning, but a few scattered showers are possible around the morning commute time, especially in northern Michiana. With the warm front now through our area, the temperatures and humidity soar through the afternoon with highs expected in the low 90s, setting the stage for more widespread rain to develop. A cold front will then generate a line of showers and thunderstorms, some of which may be strong, across Michiana in the early evening hours. Heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and lightning will likely cause outdoor events or weekend celebration plans to be temporarily disrupted, but by later tonight conditions clear up. Saturday and Sunday will be cooler and quieter with highs in the bottom of the 80s and partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies. Overall, the holiday weekend will be generally pleasant and ideal for outdoor activities.
Today: PM thunderstorms. High 92.
Tonight: Rain early, mostly cloudy after. Low 66.
Saturday: Partly cloudy. High 83.
Sunday: Mostly sunny. High 80.
