Signs of homelessness: Volunteers line up to increase awareness

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Wednesday, the Center for the Homeless joined forces with Hope Ministries for National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week.

Staff and shelter volunteers lined up along Michigan Street between Sample and South.

Each person held a sign saying what they were thankful for.

This is the second year these groups have organized this event.

"Just to show the solidarity between our two organizations.  That we're all kind of working for the same cause, just to take care of this problem of homelessness in our community," said Lisa Knox with the Center for the Homeless.

If you would like to help, the Center for the Homeless is always in need of volunteers and donations.
