Silver Beach Carousel plans to reopen in July with new procedures

ST. JOSEPH, Mich.—The Silver Beach Carousel is targeting July for its reopening, according to its website.

The carousel temporarily shut down in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Though no specific date has been announced yet, the attraction is planning to reopen this summer, but with a few new procedures.

According to the carousel’s website, hours of operation will be limited and an online reservation system will be implemented.

An online registration with payment will secure a 60-minute visit to the carousel for a specific day and time. The reservation will allow you to ride as many times as you can fit into the hour time-slot.

Between sessions, volunteers will perform a 30-minute cleaning of high-touch areas.

Face masks will be required for everyone age 3 and older, regardless of vaccination status. Hand sanitizer will be available in the carousel building.

The Brass Ring Gift shop will be open for souvenir shopping and the refreshment stand will sell beverages, popcorn, cotton candy, and other treats to be enjoyed after leaving the carousel building.
