Silver Hawks continue Pink Weekend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The South Bend Silver Hawks continued their Pink Weekend at Coveleski Stadium on Sunday.

The weekend is to honor those impacted by breast cancer.

Sunday's game against the Dayton Dragons included a pink jersey giveaway.

"This promotion is very special to me. My mother passed away a couple years ago of breast cancer, so having the opportunity to do this here at the ball park is just a great way," said Silver Hawks President Joe Hart. "The players are wearing pink jerseys. We are auctioning off the jerseys with the proceeds going to that organization and to help the funding of it."

Five hundred jerseys were given out Sunday at the event.

Sunday also marked Family Day at the Cove.
