CASS COUNTY, Mich. --Deputies of the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to a single vehicle crash on May 30th, 2023, at approximately 5:19 p.m. 

The crash happened on Middle Crossing Road, near Sarabyn Street, Silver Creek Township, Cass County, Michigan. 

Initial investigation showed that the vehicle, driven by 37-year-old, Jennifer Kurzhal, was going north bound on Middle Crossing Road. 

The vehicle left east off the roadway and crashed into a tree. 

Kurzhal was transported to Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center by Pride Care Ambulance, for injuries from the crash. 

44-year-old Nathan Vandeventer was the passenger, who was to Ascension Brogess-Lee by Pride Care Ambulance, for injuries from the crash. 

Neither Kurzhal nor Vandeventer were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. 

The crash remains under investigation, but speed is a suspected factor of the crash.
