LAPORTE, Ind. -- At approximately 11:11 a.m. the La Porte County Police Department responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on the intersection of C.R. 800 South and C.R. 900 West.
A 2001 green Ford Ranger, driven by 31-year-old Rebecca L. Kuiper of Grand Rapids, was driving eastbound on C.R. 800 South, when the Ranger traveled off the roadway onto a gravel shoulder.
Kuiper overcorrected the vehicle, which resulted in it sliding sideways in the roadway and rolling over several times at the intersection of C.R. 800 South and C.R. 900 West, coming to a stop in a field.
Kuiper was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, later passing from injuries sustained during the crash.
Toxicology reports are pending.
ABC57 will update when we confirm more.
