MISHAWAKA, Ind. - A man with a knife prompts police presence at University Park Mall.
Around 6:45 p.m., on Tuesday, November 21, dozens of police cars lined the curb to the mall's front entrance when Barnes & Noble shut down over an initially reported medical episode.
New information, regarding the incident, was released on Wednesday, with authorities reporting the situation instead involved a man with a knife.
First responders initially said officers responded to a medical episode, but the Mishawaka Police Department told ABC57 that a man pulled a knife and asked staff to call police.
The man didn't threaten anyone, but officers arrested him for disorderly conduct and outstanding warrants.
The staff at Barnes & Noble evacuated customers and no one was hurt.
