Six arrested in Elkhart narcotics investigation

ELKHART, Ind. - Six people were arrested on drug charges Friday as a result of a narcotics investigation, according to the Elkhart Police Department.

At 5:31 a.m., Elkhart Police officers and the Elkhart County Regional SWAT Team performed a search warrant in the 200 block of Middlebury Street.

Investigators removed drug paraphernalia, marijuana, and methamphetamine from the residence, according to reports.

Six people were arrested during the search.

Carl Gary, 43, of Elkhart, was arrested on the charges of dealing in methamphetamine and maintaining a common nuisance. He was also arrested on an outstanding and unrelated warrant.

Lashawn Whitener, 43, of Elkhart, was arrested on a charge of visiting a common nuisance.

Maria Willis, 47, of Elkhart, was arrested on the charges of visiting a common nuisance and possession of paraphernalia.

Victoria Gayfield, 50, of Elkhart, was arrested on the charges of visiting a common nuisance, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia.

Nicole Winings, 41, of Elkhart, was arrested on the charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession methamphetamine.

Andrew Smith, 69, of Elkhart, was arrested on a charge of maintaining a common nuisance.
