SJCPL Main Street branch grand opening

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Public Library's main library will reopen on Sunday. It has been closed for renovations.

The library officially reopens at 11 a.m.

Here's the schedule for opening day. Details provided by SJCPL.

11:00 a.m.

Main Library reopens! Explore the new spaces, view the smART Box and learn about the history of the Library, or visit the new Local & Family History department.

11:30 a.m.

Guided tours begin and will be available every 30 minutes throughout the day (last tour at 4 p.m.). Learn more about the new library and get an inside look at the Community Learning Center.

1:15 p.m.

Seating begins in the 250-seat auditorium. Masks required.

2:00 p.m.

Fischoff’s S.A.M. I Am – Stories And Music, Featuring a performance by the Thalea String Quartet

Fischoff’s S.A.M. I Am reinforces the joy of reading through the power of music. Hear Fischoff alumni, the award winning Thalea String Quartet, perform their dramatic musical retelling of 2013 Caldecott Medal honoree and winner of the Young Hoosier Book Award, Creepy Carrots, by Aaron Reynolds. Be part of the first performance taking the stage in the newly constructed auditorium space in the Main Library!
