Slick road conditions cause accident, one man sent to hospital

Elkhart County deputies responded to the scene of a single-vehicle car accident Friday night that sent a man from Elkhart to the hospital.

56-year-old Bernard Nowak of Elkhart was heading east on US 20, just west of County Road 26, when his vehicle began to lose control because of the slick conditions of the road.

Police say Nowak struck the median multiple times before coming to rest in the middle of the eastbound lanes on US 20.

Nowak had complaints about his neck, shoulder and back as a result of the crash and was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for evaluation and treatment.

The crash is still under investigation at this time.
