Power restored in Sturgis following gas leak

STURGIS, Mich. -- City of Sturgis Electric crews turned off power in the area of Michigan Avenue and Mechanic Street because of a gas leak Monday afternoon. Power has since been restored.
The outage affected properties within the following boundaries: E. Congress St. to the north, Grand St. to the south, S. Lakeview St. to the east, and Wilson St. to the west. Approximately 150 customers were without power.
The gas leak was due to construction work in the area.
