South Bend accepting applications for curb, sidewalk reimbursement program

ABC 57

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Property owners in South Bend can now apply for the curb and sidewalk reimbursement program through the city's Department of Public Works.

City officials say the program helps property owners with costs to repair curbs, sidewalks, and ADA curb ramps adjacent to properties.

Those eligible for the program include homeowners and property owners within city limits, including businesses.

Officials say reimbursement rates vary depending on property type and location, with higher rates offered to those in target areas.

Target areas are determined by household income and sidewalk conditions and change annually to benefit parts of the city that need it the most.
