South Bend Airport receives grant funding from COVID relief package

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski announced today that the South Bend International Airport was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the bipartisan COVID relief package passed in December.

The airport will receive over $3 million for costs related to debt service payments, operations, personnel, cleaning and sanitization, janitorial services, and fighting the spread of pathogens at the airport.

This COVID relief package, known as the Coronavirus Relief and Response Supplemental Appropriations Act, was passed by Congress in December 2020 and signed into law by former President Donald Trump. The legislation provided relief to American families, workers, small businesses, and others.
