South Bend Animal Care and Control hosts pet adoption day
GRANGER, Ind. - It was a new beginning for the South Bend Animal Care and Control Sunday as they hosted a pet adoption in Granger.
The organization kicked off a series of new adoptions today under the new brand. Not only is it a new beginning for the shelter that is breaking ground this week on its new state facility, but also a new beginning for the animals that were adopted into new forever homes Sunday afternoon.
The Animal Care and Control is preparing for a huge celebration this week. The ground breaking ceremony will take place Wednesday.
After years of preparting and planning, the time has finally come. The new facility will be quadruple the current facility. Going from 17 kennels to 39. There will also now be a spay and neuter clinic and indoor and outdoor courtyards.
After much debate the South Bend Redevelopement Commision approved the 1.5 million dollar funding for the project last month.
